Chloe Smith MP’s creation of the successful Norwich For Jobs campaign has led this week to a youth promise for the whole of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Chloe joined New Anglia LEP on Monday 24th March to launch the Youth Pledge, that every young person (16-24) in Norfolk and Suffolk will get the personal support they need to get an apprenticeship, training, work experience or a job within 3 months of leaving education or employment.

Chloe and Julia Nix, a fellow leader of the Norwich For Jobs campaign, were delighted to see the Norwich project’s achievements recognised in the new pledge.

Norwich For Jobs has helped over 1,800 city young people into work by encouraging over 160 employers to provide opportunities of jobs or apprenticeships.  The campaign continues while lending its experience to the new Norfolk and Suffolk Youth Pledge.

Chloe says:

“On behalf of everyone who has been part of the success of Norwich For Jobs, I am proud to see our experience extend to helping even more young people in the area.  Each person helped by our work isn’t a statistic – it’s a real person gaining the security of a pay packet, more skills and a better future for them and their family.  Norwich For Jobs showed that you can make a difference by setting out an ambition, engaging local businesses, connecting people with those opportunities and focusing the community on a common goal.”
