Ukraine's children are not alone

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 24 May 2022 10:31

Yesterday, the Prime Minister wrote an open letter to the children of Ukraine telling them that they are not alone amid the devastating war that Putin's regime started.

You can see more on the Prime Minister's letter here: https://news.sky.com/story/boris-johnson-pens-open-letter-to-children-of-ukraine-saying-you-are-not-alone-12619062

Children right across Ukraine have been affected by Russia's illegal and bloody invasion of Ukraine with two million children being forced to flee the country as well as two and a half million more children being internally displaced.

The Prime Minister’s letter to Ukraine's children described our nation's solidarity with their country, reassuring them that the UK will support Ukraine 'whatever happens, however long it takes'.

I am very pleased that an extensive package of support to help schools to welcome Ukrainian children in Norwich has been put in place by Norfolk County Council and that local children and schools have risen to the need of the hour.

Everybody that settles in Norwich and Norfolk can get access to local support services through Norfolk County and you can find more information on this on the website: https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/safety/migrants-refugees-and-asylum-seekers/ukraine
