Norfolk Coronavirus update

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 17 March 2021 12:06

Last week I joined fellow Norfolk MPs to receive an update from Norfolk County Council on the latest Coronavirus situation.
The rate in Norfolk is 35 per 100,000 with 319 cases while the rate in Norwich is 29 per 100,000 with 41 cases in the 7 days to last Friday. These are both a trend downwards.
In Norwich North, 30,260 people have received their first vaccine, which is 33.5% of the population.
It was also interesting to learn that the vaccination logistics model will be changing. Changes include:
  • Pharmacies to start administering the vaccine, with 7 across Norfolk lined up to open already
  • The twin vaccine booking system will now be joining together to become one process.
  • Two vaccination buses will travel around Norfolk and Waveney making it even easier for people to get vaccinated and focusing on immunising people in areas where vaccine uptake has been lower than in other parts of the region.
As ever, if there is any specific issues that I can help with please do email me chloe@chloesmith.org.uk or call 01603 414756
