Government delivering on health- More doctor’s appointments

Fantastic news for our NHS. Now that Brexit has been settled the Government is rightly turning its attention to delivering upon other key domestic priorities.

Today the Government and NHS England have committed at least an additional £1.5 billion in total for general practice over the next four years for additional staff.

This additional investment marks a major step forward in the Government’s key manifesto commitment to deliver 50 million more GP appointments by 2024.

I have been campaigning heavily to get additional support for Norwich’s NHS and this national funding announcement is incredibly welcome.

Locally, people are worried about A&E waiting times at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (NNUH). I share these concerns and have raised this issue with both the Chancellor and Health Secretary.

People also want more doctor’s appointments available locally.

The NHS is one of the government’s highest priorities, and today’s announcement is welcome news for us in Norwich.
