Flexible apprenticeship opportunities

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 03 August 2021 11:32

Today the Government have announced a cash boost to create more flexible apprenticeship opportunities – helping more young people develop the skills they need to get good jobs.
Traditional apprenticeships require at least a years worth of unbroken employment, so some sectors with flexible employment patterns and project-based work have found it challenging to benefit from the high-quality opportunities available.
That is why, as part of the Plan for Jobs, a new £7 million flexi-job apprenticeship scheme has been launched, where sectors including the creative, agriculture and construction industries can bid for funding so that their apprentice can work across a range of projects and with different employers.
Locally, The Norwich for Jobs project has launched the new campaign "Our city, our recovery, our futures" and is calling on young people and businesses to come together to enable Norwich to flourish beyond the Covid pandemic.
Norwich for Jobs is a network of local employers, charities and organisations coming together with the aim of getting young people the skills and experience they need to get into work.
This will unleash exciting new opportunities for apprentices and employers in Norwich in these sectors – harnessing the skill and talent of today for the jobs of tomorrow as we level up opportunity for young people.

Businesses and young people can find out how to get involved with the campaign on Facebook or LinkedIn oInstagram
