As Founder and Chair of the Norwich For Jobs Project, I was proud presented local firm, Validus with their Norwich For Jobs Silver Award.

The award recognises the efforts of area businesses that have helped local young people prepare for employment. For over a year, Validus has taken an active role in the effort, providing training and support at its Norwich office.

Since its 2013 launch, Norwich for Jobs has helped more than 2,000 young people into work. The award is being presented based on contributions since 2017 that have included holding practice interviews, CV feedback sessions, and work taster days.

Major locally based businesses are playing an active role in Norwich for Jobs and equipping young people with new and important skills applicable to a variety of industries. As one of the founders of this scheme, I’m delighted to see local businesses giving back to the community and helping to develop the next generation of talent in Norwich. That’s why it’s a pleasure to recognise these important contributions.

“The Norwich for Jobs scheme represents an excellent opportunity not only to provide training, support, and employment for young people in Norwich but also allows our employees to develop their mentorship skills and give back to the local community,” said Edwyn van Rooyen, cofounder of Validus and currently director at Verisk for the claims group. “It’s great to see our team rewarded for their latest efforts, building on their recent work in support of the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.”

The Norwich-based business, as part of Verisk, is a leading provider of claims management solutions, offering end-to-end claims solutions that increase efficiency and consistency, reduce cycle times, and improve the customer experience.

“The team has proved to be an excellent addition to Verisk, demonstrating a strong commitment to developing truly industry-leading technology solutions for the UK motor insurance market,” said Joe Pendle, managing director at Verisk for the claims group. “We look forward to closely supporting the ongoing work with Norwich for Jobs and broader community schemes, in line with the Verisk commitment to corporate social responsibility worldwide.”
