Chloe Smith takes part in RSPB workshop with Hellesdon Primary School Children

Author: Chloe Smith, Updated: 19 September 2018 11:01

It was a pleasure to visit Heather Avenue Infant School, in Hellesdon, yesterday, to join Year 1 in taking part in hands-on activities in partnership with the RSPB. The workshop session was designed to teach the children about birds and local wildlife and how they can help protect them.

The ‘Connection to Nature Scheme’ is funded by Aldi Supermarkets, who fund the project through their plastic bag charges to customers in their stores. The RSPB does important work in protecting our local wildlife. The outdoor learning session is important for young people to be able to take part in, to understand how they can help protect our urban wildlife in the city.
