Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North has described her concern at a further terrorist attack, which took place outside Finsbury Park Mosque last night.

Chloe commented:

"I am deeply concerned to see another violent attack and my thoughts are with those mown down and their families."

This attack follows the recent attacks in London and Manchester, following which, Chloe is keen to reassure constituents that the Government is taking steps to provide safety:

“I know our law enforcement and security and intelligence agencies are working constantly, day and night, to keep the people of this country safe and secure. The Government is taking all necessary steps to make sure they have the powers, the capabilities and resources they need. The police have increased their presence on some streets and at some locations, and they will be intensifying their approach at events in big cities. Officers are working closely with communities and businesses to provide advice and reassurance.”

Chloe comments echoes the Prime Minister’s statement where Theresa May said: “Our country woke to news of another terrorist attack on the streets of our capital city: the second this month and every bit as sickening as those which have come before.”
