Chloe Smith reacts to Britvic and Unilever announcements

Chloe Smith has today received a letter from Paul Graham, GB Managing Director of Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd stating that Britvic has announced proposals to transfer production from its Norwich site to other manufacturing sites throughout the country, subject to a full consultation.

Following the announcement this morning, and the annoucement by Unilever also made today concerning their production in Norwich,  Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, said

“This is very sad news and many constituents will be very anxious about the possible closures. The loss of any jobs is very troubling but to also risk losing the iconic Colman’s brand from Norwich would be a crying shame. At this stage, I am urging the companies to do all they can to avert the loss of jobs and to make all support available to those workers”.
