Chloe Smith MP to meet with Treasury Minister about the performance of HMRC

Chloe Smith MP is meeting with David Gauke MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, on Wednesday 28^th November 2015 to raise her serious concerns about the performance of HMRC.

 

Chloe Smith MP said:

 

“I am meeting with David Gauke MP to discuss the ongoing problems many of my constituents are experiencing with HMRC.  I have received dozens of complaints from constituents who endure lengthy delays when trying to call HMRC with some reporting waits in excess of an hour. 

 

I wrote to the Chief Executive of HMRC, Lin Homer, in May of this year about these problems and was assured that the situation would improve.  However, despite these assurances, I have seen no improvement in the service my constituents are receiving.  I have therefore arranged a meeting with the Financial Secretary to the Treasury to discuss the problems and urge him to take swift action to improve the service”.
