Chloe Smith comments on Autumn Statement

Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, today comments on key points for Norwich of the Autumn Statement:

 

"This statement continues to lay the right foundations in the economy. It is crucial to get public spending under control and run a deficit, because that provides for security for every household and leaves the next generation with a stronger country. People in Norwich will welcome the protection of police funding, the biggest rise in the state pension for fifteen years, the enabling of better social care provision, the doubling of the housing budget, and the largest ever investment in free childcare.

 

"As the chair of Norwich for Jobs, I welcome the increase in funding to help people with disabilities and health conditions to get into work.

 

"As the MP for Norwich Airport, I welcome the announcement of funding to support new air routes from Norwich. The new Enterprise Zone across Norfolk and Suffolk will continue to help Norwich by promoting the Norwich Research Park."
