Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich North, is encouraging local young people to take part in the National Citizen Service (NCS) this October half term.

Places are running out and 16 and 17 year olds are being invited to sign up whilst they still can.

The programme has been designed to give young people a worthwhile and positive start to the next stage of their lives. They are invited to test their limits in confidence-boosting outward bound activities, increase their set of important work/life skills, experience independent living and make lots of new friends.

The government invests into every NCS place so it costs just £50 to take part.

Speaking about the programme Chloe said:

"I always support NCS as I think it's a fantastic opportunity for local young people.

"It's a really positive way for teenagers to spend their school holidays, and year on year I see firt0hand just how much young people - as well as the wider community - get out of it.

"I'd be delighted to hear that lots of young people from Norwich North are getting involved with NCS this half term."
