Following a period of intense winter pressures and seasonal illnesses, I am delighted to see that A&E waiting times at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) are improving, with more and more patients waiting less than four hours for emergency and urgent treatment during January 2023.
The Eastern Daily Press recently reported that the latest waiting time statistics have shown "that eight out of 10 patients who attend A&E at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital are dealt with in less than four hours."

NHS Digital data indicated that during January, 18,213 people attended the A&E department at NNUH, with 14,257 either discharged or admitted into hospital within four hours.
I know from my constituents' cases just how distressing long waits in A&E can be when you're unwell, and faster treatment at NNUH is such welcome news. I extend my praise and genuine thanks to the hardworking urgent and emergency care staff and the leadership team at the NNUH for their continued efforts to improve patient care.
